Egg-Static

I know it's been a while since I posted to Tried and Tru, but this one couldn't wait. A few of you have asked me to try out the Ped Egg so I purchased one tonight and went straight upstairs to give it a try. I can only say one thing - WOW!!!! I'm so excited about it I can hardly contain myself! Now, I know this is kinda gross, but I've got horribly dry feet. Ever since dance in high school and my fascination with high heeled shoes, the bottom of my feet have felt like industrial strength sand paper. Even after a professional pedicure, I could still probably remove paint from wood with my heels. BUT - this thing more than did the trick. It only took me about 10 minutes and left my feet feeling like butter.

PERKS: It's cheap, it's super easy to use, and it WORKS!!!

PITFALLS: The packaging claims that the "egg" traps the shavings and leaves no mess. That's a big fat lie. Make sure when you use it to put an old towel down to help with clean up.

Available at Target, Bed, Bath, & Beyond, or some drugstores such as Walgreens for $9.99

A heck of a lot cheaper than a pedicure.

Bonus Tip: After I finished with the Ped Egg, I used Dr. Scholls for Her Ultra Overnight Foot Cream to moisturize. It smells great and it's not greasy. Also available at Target or your local drugstore.

Gotta Hand it to You

I get extremely dry skin during the winter and my hands are often the worse. I found this weekend that my sister can relate all year round with the amount of post-diaper changing handwashing she does. When you've got hands with skin so dry it hurts, not any old lotion will do. You need cream formulated espcially for your hands. That's where Neutrogena's Norwegian Formula Hand Cream comes in. I bought this after a magazine I was reading rated it as the Best Hand Lotion. I couldn't agree more.
PERKS: Just a little dab works like magic. It doesn't leave your hands really greasy so everything you touch won't look like you've smeared your hands in butter.

PITFALLS: Don't get your hands wet shortly after applying. The stuff's not waterproof so water makes your hands really slippery and will wash the stuff right off.

Available at Target or your local drugstore for under $5.00.

Tender Loving Cuticle Care

I received this product in my stocking from my friend Kristie this past Christmas. I'd usually consider myself a life long nail biter but have recently been trying to kick the habit. Now that I've actually been giving a little TLC to my nails, I'm in love with this product! I never knew how much better my nails could look with a little cuticle oil. It's about the size of an ink pen so it's small enough to carry around in your purse. You simply twist the bottom of the applicator for just the right amount of product and apply directly to your nails!

PERKS: The "paint brush" tip let's you apply the product super easily. Best of all, there is no spills and no mess and you can apply it on the go! Brilliant!

PITFALLS: You may need to give the product a little time to actually soak into your cuticles for maximum effect.

Available at Target or your local drugstore for under $6.00

Lucious Lashes

You've all seen those commercials for mascara that guarantees 3x the volume for your lashes. Well Cover Girl's new Lash Blast mascara stays true to their word. It definitely thickened my lashes and gave me that "fresh from the runway" look. It reminds me of it's distant, much more expensive cousin, Dior Show. Now, I'm not dissing Dior Show because I'm just as infatuated with it, but at $23 bucks a pop, my eyelashes are receiving a little more affection than they truly deserve.PERKS: It definitely gave my lashes that blast of volume I need (why is it that men always seem to get perfectly dark, long, voluminous lashes?) but who can resist the fat little bright orange tube anyhow?

PITFALLS: When using brand new, it can get a bit clumpy so I suggest using a Kleenex to dab off the extra until you've used it for a few weeks.

Available at your Target or any other local drugstore for around $6.99.
